One of San Francisco’s most iconic holiday traditions is back! The Safeway Holiday Ice Rink at Union Square, presented by Kaiser Permanente, returns for another magical season of outdoor skating right in the heart of downtown SF.

From November 5, 2025, through January 19, 2026, enjoy daily skating sessions surrounded by twinkling lights and holiday energy. Sessions run for one hour and begin every 90 minutes.
Pricing: $22 general admission | $17 for kids 8 & under (skate rental included)

Keep an eye out for special themed nights like Drag on Ice, Silent Skate, and Polar Bear Skate, they’re always a crowd favorite.

New to skating? Kaiser Permanente’s Learn to Skate program offers a chance to win a free lesson with professional instructors through a lottery system. December lottery entries open October 27 – November 16, 2025.
